A burner burns yellow and sooty. An air shutter set wrong, a dirty orifice, or an LP/NG conversion that was not completed for the installed fuel.

The igniter clicks continuously across modules. Moisture or a cracked electrode, or a stuck spark switch shorting the ignition module.

Hob surface discoloration
Stainless or enamel hob surfaces discolor or stain around the modules. Heat tint and cleaning residue; addressed with correct surface care, not abrasives.

Drip-tray or grate corrosion
Cast grates, drip trays, or burner caps corrode or pit. Standing moisture and harsh cleaners; cleaned and re-protected, or replaced when pitting is deep.

Control knobs wobble, slip, or no longer index to settings. A worn knob bore, a stripped valve stem, or a loose bezel on the control panel.
