What we fix on La Cornue range tops.
Gas burner ignition fails
A brass gas module will not light while others spark. Clogged ports or orifice, a cracked or wet electrode, or a misaligned burner cap on that zone.
French-top uneven or cracked
The cast-iron French top (plaque coup de feu) heats unevenly, cracks, or warps. Thermal shock, standing water, or lost seasoning; severe cases require plate replacement.
Grill module clogged
The lava-rock gas grill burns weakly or unevenly. Grease-fouled lava rocks, blocked burner ports under the rock tray, or an air-shutter set incorrectly.
Induction zone fail or "U"
An induction module zone shows "U" or will not heat. No or incompatible pan detected; if a known-good pan fails on one zone only, the coil or pan sensor is faulty.
Teppanyaki not heating
The electric teppanyaki plate fails to reach temperature. A burned element, a failed thermostat, or a control connection fault on the module.
Flamberge rotisserie fault
The Flamberge gas rotisserie burner won't ignite or the spit motor stops. A weak igniter or safety valve on the burner, or a failed rotisserie drive motor.
Valve leak or stiff knob
A module valve seeps gas or the knob binds. Worn valve stem packing or a loosened fitting (gas smell — stop use), or hardened grease stiffening the knob.
Yellow flame (air/LP-NG)
A burner burns yellow and sooty. An air shutter set wrong, a dirty orifice, or an LP/NG conversion that was not completed for the installed fuel.
Spark module clicking
The igniter clicks continuously across modules. Moisture or a cracked electrode, or a stuck spark switch shorting the ignition module.
Hob surface discoloration
Stainless or enamel hob surfaces discolor or stain around the modules. Heat tint and cleaning residue; addressed with correct surface care, not abrasives.
Drip-tray or grate corrosion
Cast grates, drip trays, or burner caps corrode or pit. Standing moisture and harsh cleaners; cleaned and re-protected, or replaced when pitting is deep.
Loose or worn knobs
Control knobs wobble, slip, or no longer index to settings. A worn knob bore, a stripped valve stem, or a loose bezel on the control panel.
These are the most common issues — not an exhaustive list. Our technicians diagnose and repair any La Cornue range top problem, including intermittent faults, unusual symptoms, and issues not listed here.
